Watch for details soon on a unique "Special Friends" Gathering - food, new friends & an opportunity to learn about your place with us!
We regard special needs as different abilities rather than disabilities.
Special Friends exists to help kids and students with special needs access our programs and ministries, while growing in their friendship and knowledge of Christ in a safe and accepting environment, empowering caregivers to do the same.
In short, Special
Friends provides opportunities for access, growth, and care.
The spirit of Special Friends is one of inclusion; therefore, the ministry matches kids/students, who have special needs, with an adult or teenage side-by-side "buddies" to help integrate the child/student into our programs and ministries.

Special Friends Calming Kits
For individuals with autism, developmental delays, sensory challenges, or other special needs, the crowds, sounds, smells, and, lights of Mass can at times be overwhelming and result in anxiety and upset. Five “Calming Kits” are now available near the worship space to be used during Masses by parishioners and visitors who experience distress due to sensory overload. Each kit contains a pair of noise-reducing, adjustable earmuffs, a square of soft fleece fabric, a plastic flexible fidget (washable and quiet), and individually-wrapped alcohol wipes for cleaning the earmuffs. We hope that these kits will help these individuals to stay and participate at Mass rather than leave seeking respite in the halls or restrooms. Look for the kits as you enter the church in the vestry or ask one of our Ministers of Hospitality. Simply take a kit and return it after Mass.
